A week-long stage race between the Dolomites and the village: Val di Fassa Running, June 21–26, 2026.
There’s a precise moment, just before the starting gun in Canazei, when you realize it’s not “just” a race. The silence of the evening and the fresh air that hits your lungs like a jolt, it’s an energy that grips you even before the start. You look around and see focused faces, knowing smiles, someone stretching their legs in silence.
The gun goes off, you hear the roar of the nearby crowd, the footsteps changing rhythm, the breathing finding its rhythm. The Dolomites are the stage, but they’re not just a backdrop; they accompany you, observe you, and test you.
Then the real magic begins: day after day, you build something. Vigo di Fassa welcomes you with its village atmosphere that transforms fatigue into celebration.
In Campitello di Fassa, on the other hand, you find continuity, discipline, and your mind learns to manage fatigue.
You arrive in Pozza di Fassa with tired legs. Each stage is different, but the feeling is always the same: you’re not alone. You’re part of a community of runners from all over Italy, and for a week, the valley becomes a shared event, filled with encouragement, glances, “How are you?” and “See you tomorrow.”
The rest day is a gift; it gives you space. You recover physically, but above all mentally. You realize how important it is to sleep well, eat well, truly breathe, and enjoy the moment, taking nothing for granted. There’s also the Kids’ Race, and the atmosphere changes: lighter, more familiar, as if Val di Fassa is telling you there’s room for everyone here, even those cheering with wide eyes and small hands.
And then comes the Grand Finale, San Pellegrino towards Col Margherita. There, the race becomes epic. The forest grows silent, and all you hear is your breath and your heartbeat, echoing inside you ever more loudly. But when your gaze opens, you find yourself overcome with the thrill of a goal that isn’t just about “arriving,” but about earning it. And there you realize that what matters is the journey and the people who accompanied you.
Every evening, returning to the Park Hotel Dolasilla means closing the circle in the best possible way: comfort, care, and true recovery, ready to wake up energized for the next stage.
